Large Crystal Glass & Brass Wall Sconce by Orrefors & Lyfa. 1960s
Orrefors Crystal and Brass Sconce in size XL in design by Carl Fagerlund, Sweden. Thick mold-blown texturized crystal glass which is curved to a form of a half circle and held in place by two brass screws.
When the sconce is lit, the light sources and the richly textured crystal glass creates a soft illumination and spreads the emitted light in every direction. Hollywood Regency meets Scandinavian modernism and the sconces would fit perfectly as accent light in a living room or hallway, as bedside light or even in an office space.

Swedish glass and lighting designer Carl Fagerlund was born in Kalmar, Sweden in 1915. He trained in Stockholm and became a drawing teacher in 1943. From 1946 to 1980 he worked as lighting architect and designer at the acclaimed Swedish glassworks Orrefors Glasbruk, named after the small town in southern Sweden where it was situated and renowned for its high quality crystal and art glass.
